Protective Safety Behaviours

As there has been a great deal of media focus on attempted child abductions in the local area, many parents are understandably anxious. With this in mind, Justine Adler spoke to a group of parents at a local preschool to discuss their concerns and provide appropriate strategies to protect their children.

The workshop addressed a number of practical steps that parents and carers can use to ensure their children have the skills to deal with these difficulties. There was also an opportunity to dispel myths that parents might have, for example the “stranger danger “ phenomenon. There were lots of questions and discussion raised and parents felt that they walked way with more confidence about an anxiety provoking subject.
